Our laboratory is part of the Department of Radiology, Center for Advanced Imaging Innovation and Research at the New York University School of Medicine. We are fortunate to benefit from state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant research community.
The Department of Radiology employs approximately 600 staff, including more than 100 attending radiologists, numerous residents and fellows, CBI researchers as described below, and others. Transforming the field of radiology to improve the lives of people is our departmental mission, and translational research represents one of our key strategic priorities. In service of this priority, the department has invested in 9 50/50 clinical research positions, in project- and investigator-focused mentorship programs, and in dedicated core facilities devoted to RF engineering, MR physics and pulse programming, and image processing. These core facilities serve all department members and departmental research projects. Combining clinical excellence with basic and translational research, the Department of Radiology operates a full complement of diagnostic imaging modalities, including more than 20 MR scanners at various sites, as well as state-of-the-art CT scanners and PET-CT machines.
